Machine Men is a Finnish heavy metal band influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne and Queensryche. Machine Men got it's start in Autumn 1998 when Parantainen, Parviainen, Vehniäinen and Noronen, who had been playing Iron Maiden covers together, were joined by J-V.

The first demo recording of Machine Men was made few months later. The recording session took place in Watercastle studio in Jyväskylä at 29th of May 1999.

During the summer 1999 Machine Men played few highly energetic gigs.

In the Fall 1999 "Through My Tomb" from the first demo recording was chosen to Jyrki Hit Challenge semifinals as one of the 24 songs that were chosen from the 500 songs that had been submitted to the contest.

The second demo session took place in Watercastle studios at 7th and 9th of December 1999. This time the demo got a honorable mention "Demosedän Merkki" in finnish music magazine Soundi.

Parviainen, Parantainen and Vehniäinen were forced to start their compulsory military service in Finnish army in the Winter 2000. That meant six months break for Machine Men. Machine Men spent the Summer 2000 doing gigs and songwriting.

In the Summer 2001 Machine Men took part in Big Boom -band competition. The success in Big Boom gave Machine Men an opportunity to have their song "Failed Trick" published in a compilation CD. In the Autumn 2001 Machine Men headed to studio and recorded two amazing songs: "Behind The Wall of Scene" and "Eye of the Truth". In March 2002 this two-song CD was reviewed as "the Demo of the Month" by Finnish music magazine Soundi.

In December 2001 Machine Men signed a record deal with Finnish label Dynamic arts Records. Straight after the ink was dry the band went to studio to record a mini CD. That CD contains five songs: "Men Inside the Machine", "Eye of the Truth", "The Slave Trade", "Enjoy Insanity" and a cover song of Iron Maiden's classic "Aces High".

The mini CD was released in June 2002.

After the release of the mini cd Machine Men toured Finland in various cool and shitty places. MM played with many excellent Finnish bands such as .... The Mini CD received brilliant reviews in magazines and web zines. Rock Hard from Germany released "Men Inside the Machine" in their compilation CD, which was distributed with the magazine.

Machine Men has been making new songs constantly, and in June 2003 MM started a recording session in Studio Audio in order to record their first full length album. After a month of insane recording and hot summer days the album was ready. The mastering took place in Cutting Room Stockholm, Sweden. Scars & Wounds was released on 13.10.2003.
